The W Istanbul Hotel is located in the historic Akaretler Row Houses that used to house the emperor’s staff in the old days. The hotel now is at the heart of the vibrant Besiktas neighborhood filled with restaurants, cafes, and design & art galleries.

Andaz Amsterdam is a new design hotel venue on the elegant Prinsengracht canal in Amsterdam’s Jordaan district. Nestled in the former Public Library the hotel boasts 122 rooms, but you wouldn’t tell from outside since it nicely fits in the surrounding historic canal architecture. Inside, though, we are talking a completely different world. Step in and enjoy opulent design at its best!

Turkey
Recently I ventured to Istanbul for the first time in my life. Turkey used to be one of the few destinations that I was a bit reluctant to go because it seems fairly exotic to the Western eye and the language is all different from what we would speak anywhere else in Europe.
Anyway, I somehow managed to talk myself into this adventure and all of a sudden I was there in the whirlwind taxi traffic from the airport to an outstanding oasis of classy style by the Bosphorus.

I know, Rome has much more on offer than just this lengthy piazza that used to see chariot races in the old days. But still, once you’ve seen a couple of Rome’s most important landmarks you may as well sit down, watch the world go by and enjoy Italian style urban scenery on just this very square.
Czech Republic
Conveniently situated in a calm side street lies a hidden hotel gem. It can only be recognised by the stylish tapas bar. When you look closer you will discover the hotel’s Icon logo in the first floor and a madonna above a historic wooden door. That’s the actual entrance. Many customers or passers-by obviously also make it via the bar’s more inviting entrance. But if you are heading in the hotel’s direction you’ll probably have the address at hand and easily find the door to a whole different inside world…
