In 2010 Switzerland’s Lake Lucerne region got a newly renovated 5 star boutique hotel, the Hotel Vitznauerhof Vitalresort in Vitznau. It is located right on the shores of the lake and via its garden it offers direct access to the lake and a stunning view of the Swiss alps.

From the moment you enter the Hotel Vitznauerhof you will feel a pampering boutique ambiance. The lobby and especially the bar feature stylish furnishing and arts decoration with perfectly blending colours. The staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful.

Hotel Room and Suites

The ‘superior’ lake view rooms are convenient and modern and the bathroom is generous. Especially the large shower. WLAN is speedy and complementary in all rooms.

Breakfast & Dining by the Lake Lucerne

One of the restaurants at the Vitznauerhof is the ‘Inspiration’. It serves food made only from fresh, seasonal and regional products. We had a delicious five course dinner served by very friendly and humorous staff. Every course is prepared with accuracy and composed very creatively. I liked my dinner’s cognac sauce finish a lot!

The available breakfast variety seems more healthy than advisable. I choose ‘vital’ and ‘energy’ and ran strongly forever. It thought.

The brigade de cuisine is lead by Pascal Schmutz, mentioned in the press as the ‘discovery of the year’! He mainly leads the hotel’s gourmet restaurant ‘Sens’, which has been awarded 15 Gault Millau points. Unfortunately, ‘Sens’ was closed for a vacation close-down when we were there… Will have to rely on other blogger’s post on what his cuisine really is like. His sous-chef is already quite someone ;-)

Wellness & Spa ‘MedinWell Spa’

Another highlight was the Medinwell Spa; a very stylish wellness area with sauna, steam bath, experience shower and relaxing room. A variety of tee, nuts and fresh fruits are available to savour.

At the MedinWell Spa they also offer a medical SPA concept representing a combination of health and wellbeing.
