# Brisbane, Australia – Citytrip

> Brisbane is a vibrant, fast-growing Australian city offering a mix of waterfront dining, cultural attractions, and easy river transport. Two days is enough to sample its main highlights across the South Bank and surrounding precincts.

## Destination
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

## What to see
- **Mount Coot-tha** — Offers a spectacular panoramic view over Brisbane, accessible via the CitySights hop-on hop-off coach.
- **South Bank Parklands** — A lively entertainment and dining district stretching along the river, with museums and green space.
- **South Bank Museums** — Waterfront cultural institutions connected to the rest of South Bank via a stylish new pedestrian bridge.
- **Fortitude Valley & Chinatown** — Vibrant inner-city precinct with the CitySights coach departing from nearby Chinatown.

## What to do
- **CitySights Hop-On Hop-Off Coach** — Gives a good first impression of the city including key landmarks; ticket also covers the City Cat ferry.
- **City Cat Ferry** — Frequently running catamarans crossing the river and stopping at several points of interest.
- **Dining at Aria or JellyFish** — Waterfront fine dining options; Aria is formal, while JellyFish offers a more light-hearted atmosphere.

## Good to know
The Limes Hotel in Fortitude Valley is a convenient base. Bill Bryson's 'A Sunburned Country' is recommended reading for an amusing outsider's take on the region.
