# A royal sojourn in Chalet Royalp in the Swiss Alps

## Getting there
Fly into Geneva, then travel by train and rental car to Villars-sur-Ollon. The Swiss Travel Pass covers trains, boats, buses across Switzerland and gives 50% off most mountain railways.

## When to go
Winter ski season; the area enjoys many sunny, clear days. Russian guests are a notable contingent around January 1–10 (Russian Christmas and New Year). Fresh snow conditions improve through the season.

## Why visit
The hotel combines seamless five-star service with direct access to 125km of pistes (and 630km across the wider Alpes Vaudoises area), a world-class spa that won Best Luxury Destination Spa in Europe 2013–14, and opulent rooms and apartments favoured by celebrities and royalty.

- **Dents du Midi panorama** — Mountain range with peaks to 3257m visible from hotel balconies.
- **Peak Walk by Tissot, Glacier 3000** — World's first suspension bridge connecting two mountain peaks, opened October 2014, spanning 107m.

## Good to know
The hotel's courtesy van shuttles guests to ski shops and lift bases. Lift passes can be pre-arranged and collected at reception. Guests may also walk 30m to the train station for direct access to the Bretaye Plateau ski area. The boutique stocks locally made products and fur fashions. Conference facilities accommodate up to 250 delegates.
