# GoldenPass Panoramic Train – between the Bernese Oberland and Lake Geneva

> The GoldenPass Line is a scenic Swiss panoramic railway running between Zweisimmen and Montreux, offering passengers sweeping Alpine landscapes along with themed train experiences including the Cheese Car and Chocolate Car.

## What to see
- **GoldenPass Panoramic cars** — Light-flooded panorama carriages offering wide views of the Alpine landscape between Zweisimmen and Montreux.
- **GoldenPass Classic cars** — Elegant carriages styled in the Belle Époque tradition, running the same Montreux–Zweisimmen route.
- **Museum Vieux Pays-d'Enhaut** — Private museum founded in 1922 in Château d'Oex covering local history, traditional Swiss life, and the art of paper cutting.

## What to do
- **Cheese Car experience** — Winter themed train stop in Château d'Oex including a dairy visit to watch 160–200 litres of organic milk transformed into a loaf of cheese.
- **Dining at Le Chalet, Château d'Oex** — Rustic restaurant serving fondue and its own 'Le Chalet organic' cheese made on a log fire, with regional products available in an in-house shop.
- **Model train display at Le Chalet** — Second-floor exhibit replicating the GoldenPass Line panorama with working model trains passing each other as in real life.

## Good to know
Le Chalet's organic cheese ripens for 5–6 months before serving. The restaurant's place mats feature paper cutting art by local artist Beatrice Straubhaar, whose work is also displayed at the Vieux Pays-d'Enhaut museum.
