# A choice of varied golf courses on Mallorca’s East Coast

> Mallorca's east coast offers a varied selection of golf courses set against Mediterranean landscapes, making it one of Europe's most accessible and rewarding golfing destinations year-round.

## Destination
Northeast Mallorca and Costa de los Pinos, Balearic Islands, Spain.

## Getting there
Mallorca is easily reached by air in a couple of hours from mainland Europe.

## When to go
Late August is recommended — after the peak summer holiday season and before the high golf season.

## Why visit
Dependable weather, spectacular and varied golf courses, stunning Mediterranean scenery, and easy air access make Mallorca a top European golfing destination. Non-golf days can be filled with Palma's vibrant capital scene, fishing villages, beaches, and nightlife.

## What to see
- **Canyamel Golf Course clubhouse terrace** — Stylish blue-and-white restaurant with awe-inspiring sea views from its sun terrace.
- **Bay of Levante vista from Son Servera** — Panoramic view of the bay visible from the fairways, set between pine-covered mountains.
- **Capdepera Golf down-valley view** — On the final fairways the course climbs uphill, rewarding players with a dramatic valley panorama.

## What to do
- **Play Canyamel Golf Course** — Par 73, 6,000 m course designed by José Gancedo in 1988; rolling front 9 and flatter back 9 with Mediterranean vistas and a challenging uphill Par 3 18th hole.
- **Play Son Servera Golf Course** — Second-oldest course on Mallorca, designed by John Harris (1967), expanded to 18 holes in 2012, nestled among pine-covered mountains.
- **Play Capdepera Golf Course** — Dan Maples-designed course featuring six man-made lakes and well-maintained greens; a golf cart is strongly recommended due to the heat.
- **Dine at Restaurant Roca Viva, Capdepera** — The clubhouse restaurant is well-known for a fine dining experience after a round.

## Good to know
Golfclub Alcanada in Mallorca's northeast is also recommended but was not tested on this visit. Son Servera's clubhouse is dated but still worth a stop for a ham-and-cheese bocadillo.
