# Gone with the wind — thanks, Air Zermatt!

> Zermatt, Switzerland offers an extraordinary heli skiing experience via Air Zermatt, dropping adventurers on the Rothorn with sweeping views of the Matterhorn and Weisshorn along the way.

## What to see
- **Matterhorn** — Iconic peak visible from the heliport and dramatically framed during the helicopter flight.
- **Weisshorn and Weisshorn Lodge** — Passed during the helicopter approach to the Rothorn drop zone.
- **Rothorn** — High-altitude drop point for heli skiing, offering panoramic alpine scenery.

## What to do
- **Heli Skiing on the Rothorn** — Fly out with Air Zermatt and ski down from the Rothorn peak; organized through Zermatt Tourism.
- **Air Zermatt Helicopter Flight** — Scenic flight from the Air Zermatt heliport over the Weisshorn and Matterhorn to the Rothorn.
- **Winter Hike to Fluhalp** — Alternative activity for non-skiers; accessed by gondola from the Rothorn area.

## Good to know
The Air Zermatt heliport is reached by a blue cargo elevator a short bus ride down valley from central Zermatt. The helicopter drop on Rothorn involves strong winds and rotor-blown snow, so be prepared for rough conditions on landing.
