# Hotel de Rougemont – Chalet-style boutique hotel

> Hotel de Rougemont is a four-star chalet-style boutique hotel opened in December 2014 in the idyllic village of Rougemont, Pays d'Enhaut, just minutes from Gstaad, blending traditional alpine architecture with contemporary luxury.

## Destination
Rougemont, Pays d'Enhaut, Switzerland — on the border with the Bernese Saanenland, a few minutes by car from Gstaad.

## What to see
- **Lobby and lounge** — Modern yet cosy interior with premium materials, pearl-like pendant lighting, bar, and fireplace.
- **Smokers Lounge** — Dedicated lounge with colour-changing ambient lighting for a relaxed atmosphere.
- **Wine store** — Curated wine selection; available for private tastings and dinners.
- **Cowhide-lined lift** — A quirky hotel signature — the lift cabin is lined with cowhide, nicknamed 'S Liftchueli' by the authors.
- **Penthouse suite** — Features natural fabrics, brown leather, fir wood, glass bathroom elements and black tiles; all 33 rooms face south with views over the Pays d'Enhaut.

## What to do
- **Dining at restaurant Le Roc** — Head chef Jean-Luc Daniel serves simple, honest cuisine; highlights include tuna tartar, steak tagliata with truffle oil, and spring risotto with asparagus.
- **Spa and wellness** — Black mosaic pool (10×4 m) with a counter-current system, steam bath, sauna with pool view, skylight, fireplace, and treatment room.

## Good to know
The hotel has been a member of Design Hotels since 2015. It is managed by directors Christine and Alexander Perper, formerly based in New York, who operate under the philosophy 'Chez nous — chez vous' (our home is your home).
