# Noble Wood and Glass in the Löwen Hotel Schruns

> The Hotel Löwen is a 4-star superior property in Schruns, Austria, reopened in October 2013 after a six-month renovation that blends Vorarlberg barn-wood tradition with modern Alpine-chic design by Zurich studio Monoplan.

The Montafon valley is a destination both in winter (skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing) and summer (hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking).

## Why visit
A thoroughly redesigned luxury hotel combining noble materials, award-winning cuisine, and a large spa, set against the panoramic Montafon mountain scenery and close to a Snowboard World Cup ski area.

## What to see
- **Zimba Mountain** — Visible from hotel balconies, nicknamed the Matterhorn of the Montafon.
- **Sennigrat and Kapellalpe** — Accessed by the Hochjoch aerial tram; hosts the Snowboard World Cup ski area.

## What to do
- **Skiing and winter sports** — The Montafon offers skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing in winter.
- **Hiking and mountain biking** — Extensive summer trails for hikers, Nordic walkers, and mountain bikers throughout the valley.
- **Spa and wellness** — 3,000 m² spa with pools, steam bath, large sauna landscape, fitness room, heated outdoor pool, and Jacuzzi.

## Good to know
The Löwen Suite measures 90 m² and includes a freestanding bathtub and a private sauna with a fireplace relaxing room. All 80 rooms have balconies with mountain panorama views. The heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi offer particularly good views of the surrounding peaks.
