Situated in a private nature reserve within a labyrinth of watercourses. ## Getting there Access is by small bush plane only; the camp has its own bush landing strip. No road access and no cellphone service. ## When to go June falls in the southern hemisphere winter and marks the end of the rains and the start of peak season. Mornings can be near freezing (around 0–6°C) while daytime temperatures reach a pleasant 20–24°C. ## Why visit Unspoiled remoteness, exclusive small-group safari, abundant wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes and wildebeest, rich birdlife, and a high-quality luxury experience far from mass tourism. ## What to see - **Wildlife game drives** — Elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest and more sighted close enough for smartphone photography. - **Bird life** — Exceptional variety of land and aquatic birds drawing serious birders with telephoto lenses. - **Okavango Delta aerial views** — The flight over the Delta's waterways in a small bush plane is a breathtaking experience in itself. - **Sunsets and sundowners** — Traditional sundowner stop in the bush at the end of each afternoon game drive. ## What to do - **Morning and afternoon game drives** — Depart around 7 a.m. in open safari jeeps, returning mid-morning; second drive from roughly 3:30 p.m. ending with a sundowner. - **Outdoor shower** — Each tent has a private alfresco shower among the treetops, best enjoyed in the warm afternoon sun. - **Communal dining** — Guests dine together at a long table each evening, sharing sightings and stories from the day. ## Good to know Tubu Tree Camp is operated by Wilderness Safaris under their '4C' sustainability framework (Commerce, Conservation, Community, Culture). Only eight tents are available, each with a canopy bed, private veranda and outdoor shower.
