The exquisite boutique hotel Algodon Mansion is located in the heart of Recoleta — the most elegant residential neighborhood in Buenos Aires. It is here that the city’s wealthiest citizens enjoy the most exclusive designer boutiques, high-end restaurants and art galleries.
Furthermore, it’s the first (and only!) Relais & Châteaux hotel in Buenos Aires!
It’s of little wonder that tennis star Roger Federer chose to stay here during his exhibition tennis matches against local hero Juan Martín del Potro. (Spanish report by La Nación)

Algodon Mansion in Buenos Aires
Algodon Mansion‘s original French classical design has been impeccably restored. The new look offers an air of contemporary elegance and sophistication.
Upon entering the hotel, the attentive staff is on hand to offer guests exceptional service. While checking-in, one cannot help but be drawn to the elaborate waterfall cascading in the lobby.
Algodon Mansion has ten opulent suites featuring dark wooden floors, cream-colored walls and luxurious Italian marble bathrooms. The rooms are all spacious and offer superior amenities and comfort. Some suites even include separate living areas and cozy fireplaces.
We were not sure if it was a reminder of Roger Federer’s recent stay or if it was a standard feature, but the TV played “tennis legends” programs the whole time we were in the suite.
The hotel’s rooftop swimming pool and spa are just what’s needed after a long day of Buenos Aires sightseeing or shopping.
International Tennis Star Roger Federer at Algodon Mansion
The hotel offers a 24-hour private concierge service and is renowned for its outstanding exclusive hospitality.
During his stay, Swiss tennis star Roger Federer and his opponent, local hero Juan Martín del Potro, collected 4 million dollars for various charities.
We are certain that he recieved the royal treatment at Algodon Mansions throughout his short stay in the city.
Algodon Mansion’s Restaurant
Algodon Mansion’s restaurant serves regional dishes by using fresh farm products from the hotel’s sister property in Mendoza.
The wines that accompany the delicious food come from the award-winning Algodon Wine Estate in San Rafael, Mendoza.
For lunch, we sampled a selection of traditional “empanadas” (stuffed patties), followed by braised pork shoulder … delicious!
Many thanks to Rodrigo Braun from Relais & Chateaux’ stellar Patagonia property Eolo and Gregor Beck, the general manager of Algodon Mansion for showing us around!
