El Casco Art Hotel, a member of Preferred Boutique, is spectacularly located on the shores of picturesque Lake Nahuel Huapi, near Patagonia’s San Carlos de Bariloche.

Together with a great collection of paintings and sculptures by Argentine artists, El Casco offers a particular and unique experience. Make sure you also check out their excellent cuisine!

Already El Casco‘s entrance area and hotel lobby are tastefully decorated with various sculptures and paintings. But once you enter the main lounge you feel a kind of open-mindedness since the room is flooded by light due to huge top to bottom windows offering a marvellous view on Lake Nahuel Huapi.

The hotel’s thirty three rooms are very spacious and all of them are decorated individually with works by different artists. All rooms offer breathtaking views of the lake.

Not only the lobby and romms but also the garden sports several great sculptures by the lake. The one we liked very much is “Los Acrobatas” by Pablo Uratella Manes. It accompanies you from your room as well as while you’re having dinner or breakfast.

The hotel features an indoor/outdoor pool, a gym and a spa. We saw some brave guests swimming in the lake and then warm up again in the hotel pool. We didn’t try that stunt since we were well aware that the water gets its intense colors from nearby glacier’s melting water…

Dining at El Casco Art Hotel

The gourmet restaurant offers stunning views of Lake Nahual Huapi and the statues in the hotel’s garden.

Chef Ana Lucía Arias offers locally inspired ingredients with a twist, e.g. a braised shoulder of lamb, reggianito gnocchi and truffle oil.

We also enjoyed the potato and sausage cake that came with the tasty veal rib eye.

Many thanks to Caroline Michaud of Preferred Hotel Group for supporting this stay!

I liked not just the wonderful view, but the bedroom decoration as well.
