Beginning of October 2011 we went on a two week roundtrip in Puglia, the region which forms “the heel of Italy’s boot”.

The focus during our trip was on bucolic landscapes, golf courses, typical italian food and stellar accomodation. Thanks to all those who gave us some good recommendations on what to see and where to go.

Two week roundtrip in Puglia, Italy

Puglia is not (yet) one of Italy’s traditional tourist destinations, but it is becoming more and more popular as travellers discover the beautiful landscape with its olive groves and vineyards, the picturesque baroque towns, the unique trulli and of course the wine and delicious cuisine.

We visited very characteristique places such as Ostuni, Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli, Martina Franca and of course we could not miss Alberobello, the hometown of the trulli.

During our trip we stayed at the following hotels:
Many thanks to Arnaldo and Federica from Italy for their advice!

Puglia Golf Courses

Of course we couldn’t have a vacation without playing a round of golf. We played at the San Domenico Golf course near Savelletri and Fasano.

Another round was on Acaya Golf Resort near Lecce.

Salutoni e Buon appetito. Pierangelo

    • You can’t possibly visit Italy in one single tour and then Puglia is not a well known destination. Which makes it the more special, of course… It’s awesome and we may return shortly to report on more masserias, their lovely country houses now turned into luxury boutique hotels…
