Hotel V in Vejer de la Frontera is a beautifully crafted boutique hotel set within a historic 17th century manor house in the charming village of Vejer de la Frontera, the southernmost “Pueblo Blanco“, one of those picturesque white villages in Spain.

Hotel V in Vejer de la Frontera

Vejer de la Frontera is a very picturesque village on the top of a hill with a spectacular panoramic view. It is quite difficult, though, to find Hotel V since Vejer is a labyrinth of white washed houses and narrow cobbled streets.

Don’t even try to get to the hotel by car! We learned the hard way and at one point we decided to leave the car at the entrance of the village and make our way to the hotel by foot. The streets are just too narrow for even the smallest Italian car model… let alone one that will carry all your luggage.

And speaking of luggage, don’t bring your full household, the rooms are very small. But once you actually get to Hotel V you’ll be flabbergasted about its beauty. This stylish boutique hotel housed in a renovated 17th century building features a tranquil patio, terraces with an overwhelming view and a rooftop jacuzzi. With the exact same overwhelming view… This luxury hotel is a truly romantic hideaway!

Rooms at Hotel V

Each of the 12 guest rooms is very unique in its ambiance. They feature avant-garde antique Portuguese furniture in teak and rosewood and an exquisitely designed bathroom!

We enjoyed room #11 – the only one with its own, private terrace with a view!

Restaurants in Vejer de la Frontera

On our trip we were not impressed with the Spanish cuisine (but ok, we’re probably spoiled from our last trip to Puglia, Italy). However, one of the most unexpected things in Vejer was the fact that it is a gastronomic paradise; there are so many nice and good restaurants and tapas bars that it gets quite a challenge to make a choice.

The restaurant we absolutely recommend is “El Jardin del Califa“, a very stylish and romantic spot where you can enjoy all flavours of Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine, as well as make your choice of various mezze and tasty grilled meats.

Make a reservation if you want to be sure to get a table, since this place is always very well visited.

Playing golf near Vejer de la Frontera

For travellers looking for adventure and activities, there are nearby beaches, wind surfing, horseback riding, wine tasting, shopping… and of course… also golf courses!

We played once in Novo Sancti Petri (the A course “Mar y Piñas”) and once at the Benalup golf course.
