The travelmatch.co.uk homepage looks fairly conventional. Which is what people are looking for, of course. Nothing fancy here. Just yet…
The magic happens under the hood, i.e. after you start searching for a travel destination, say an all inclusive holiday to Egypt. The faceted search (aka guided navigation) kicks in on the left hand side with further refinement options in order to narrow down the choices.
The top navigation bar allows for from – to ranges, the left hand guided navigation for multiple selection of check boxes. The system works quickly and easily, it’s straight forward to understand.
Hotel pages come with reviews from TripAdvisor, photo galleries, prices and availabilities from different travel agents and the usual social media buttons such as Facebook, Twitter and tell-a-friend.
As per usual with a guided navigation, options that are no longer available are greyed out. This way you will never get a ‘no results found for your search’ message anymore. Very nice!
