The grand finale of our Garden Route trip!
After having spent two wonderful weeks travelling along the Garden Route we ended our holiday with a two days private safari game at Kichaka Luxury Lodge.
What a place! From the moment we arrived we were being looked after by the outstanding staff. The place is overwhelming! A tremendous Lodge imbedded in an amazing landscape. For us it seemed like heaven on earth…
Our villa ‘Honeysuckle’ offered an exceptional level of comfort and luxury as well as a full panoramic view. On our villa terrace we enjoyed an absolute privacy.

Honeysuckle Suite at Kichaka Lodge
While having lunch on the terrace of the main lodge, which provides a magnificent viewing deck, we were surprised by ‘Harry’ – Kichaka’s house hippo, which just came out of the Waterhole. What a fantastic welcome! :-)
In the late afternoon we went on a private safari game with the ranger. We had excellent sightings of giraffes, elephants, rhinos and buffalos, as well as zebras and numerous species of antelopes. But the absolute highlight was when we saw the mating lions.
Before we went back to the lodge we stoped for a sundowner. What a glorious feeling being all alone in the wilderness.

However, it got quite cold after sunset, we therefore appreciated the warm tea and the Sherry at the fireplace back at Kichaka Lodge.
Later we enjoyed a delicious 5 star cuisine dinner and the outstanding service of the staff in a romantic ambiance in the dinner saloon.
