Travel blog on one-of-a-kind travel experiences

Most our travel bloggers are based out of Zurich, Switzerland. Hence Swiss locations are the easiest for us to cover. We like design and boutique hotels, restaurants, golf courses, scenic railways and a hike every now and then.

Once, when I was still in elementary school, I went hiking on the Rigi with my class. Back then, I managed to restrain my enthusiasm for hikes – queen of the mountains, oh, puhleeze. But I really looked forward to the part where you got cervelat sausage from the grill or the pure joy of spending a day with your class mates anywhere but in the classroom. I see things a little differently today…

Once again this year, the Gourmet Festival S. Pellegrino Sapori Ticino guests three times in Swiss Deluxe Hotels in German-speaking Switzerland. The tour just kicked off in the unique design hotel Widder in Zurich. And what a gala dinner it was, mama mia! Something to write home about!

The name is Tato Giovannoni and he is guest barman at the Gustofestival, most recently held in Zurich. Together with the “10 Manos”, five Argentinian star chefs cooking up a storm for the festival, he used that occasion to provide the Festival guests insights into Argentina’s cuisine… and its cocktails…

It was in the Hotel Valsana in Arosa that we first became aware of Swiss interior architect Carlo Rampazzi. After our recent stopover at the Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona, which also bears Rampazzi’s signature touch, we just had to get to know the star designer in person.
