Recently we got invited to present the adventure of our last year’s trip to South America and how we hunted for a story in SWISS Airline’s board magazine. The short presentation “5 weeks in South America & the perks of being a travel blogger” gave the Zurich World Travellers Meetup an overview of the highlights we encountered.

The Atacama desert in Chile is one of the driest place on earth, covering a 1,000-kilometre strip of land on the Pacific coast, west of the Andes mountains. Here you will find vast tracts of red sand, active volcanoes, felsic lava, salt-lakes and a variety of animals and plants.

Early in 2013 we are touring Chile and Argentina on a Relais & Châteaux assignment. They are a collection of the most beautiful restaurants and hotels scattered around the world. Historically the hotel collection started out in 1954 as ‘route du bonheur’ (route of happiness), rallying outstanding restaurants and hotels along the picturesque route from Paris to lavish Côte d’Azur on the Mediterranean. Once we learned about that concept we thought there must also be a route du bonheur in Chile and Argentina. Here’s our take…
