Chic Boutique Hotel Mio Buenos Aires

The Mio Buenos Aires hotel is located in the heart of upscale Recoleta district and it’s only a few meters away from exclusive designer stores, shopping centers, art galleries and just blocks from Eva Perón’s tomb in the famous Recoleta Cemetery.

The hotel combines luxury, elegance and design. The perfect base to explore the tango capital!

Recoleta’s Mio Buenos Aires Boutique Hotel

Already Mio Buenos Aires’ entrance is quite impressive; a 20 foot / 6 meter-high front-door made of French oak from wine barrels. The lobby is very stylish and elegant. Glass, cotton, oak, steel, marble and silk were used throughout the common spaces, offering a warm feeling of home despite the seemingly cold materials. Not bad at all…

Lobby armchairs

The hotel design blends luxury and comfort with its classy accommodation and features a library, a small business corner, an indoor pool jacuzzi, a steam bath and a gym on the 8th floor.

Attractive objects by Argentinian artists are spread throughout the hotel. Outside the restaurant area metal butterflies fly around.

Restaurant “Sivela 465”

The restaurant, Sivela 465, serves contemporary cuisine, using seasonal recipes. We tried roasted pumpkin raviolis in a mushroom, fresh basil and toasted almond sauce. As you may know Buenos Aires boasts among the best pasta dishes in the world. They are half Italian after all…

And you can tell by their Tiramisú desserts, too…

The breakfast buffet is varied and if you are fond of delicious cupcakes you won’t be disappointed!

Hotel Rooms at Mio Buenos Aires

The doors of the 30 rooms and suites are made of wine barrels of pure French oak, too. And once you actually enter the hotel room you’ll find yourself in a huge living space with an open bathroom including a wooden, sculptural bathtub! The bathtubs were created by Mario Dasso, an Argentinean artist specializing in engraving nature.

All the rooms are finished to a very high standard using the finest wood, marble and fabrics and featuring a Nespresso machine, iPod docking station, and personal amenities by my favourite label L’Occitane.

Many thanks to Amalia Gonzales for making this stay possible!

Es increible la cantidad de hoteles de lujo con todo lo que un europeo pueda desear se encuentran al final del mundo.
Realmente vale la pena hacer un viaje como ese!
