When we talk about Rajasthan, the first thing that comes into mind is the rich and royal culture that flourishes there. The state has been the center of attraction for people all over the world due to the royal heritage.

The state has been the homeland of a number of valiant rulers who were not only well known for their fantastic rule on the land but also as some of the greatest warriors in the history of the country.

There are a number of palaces in Rajasthan that have been restored as heritage hotels. Deogarh Mahal is one such place that establishes the same fact. Come with us on this amazing tour!

Catching a mere glimpse of the magnificent Deogarh Mahal luxury palace, one gets a good idea about the excellent tastes of the rulers who built it. The architecture is a fine specimen of excellent craftsmanship.

Being one of the heritage hotels in Rajasthan, it holds great importance. As one enters the palace, it is easy to sense that the rulers were great patrons of justice. The gateway that leads into the front courtyard passes under the “Kacheri” where justice was served during those days.

This is where the masses came to seek justice. The highly painted palace entrance leads up, passing through a number of small family shrines as well as through a series of narrow passages and staircases.

The inside of the mahal is even grander. There is a huge courtyard in the center of the palace and there are several galleries that give a view of the courtyard while passing through them. In olden days, there used to be certain screened windows resembling the mesh windows of today that presented a clear view of this specific area.

It is noted that this palace of Deogarh bears a certain resemblance to the famous Hawa Mahal in Jaipur. The resemblance is due to the fact that Pratap Singh, who was brought here as a child in order to save him from fatal plottings, built it as a remainder of his pleasant childhood memories.

There are a number of rooms in Deogarh Mahal that display the grandeur. But also day to day operations such as breakfast, massages or the pool are worth the trip.

For more details and information, please check out our booking page.

In the evening local dances are shown in the courtyard.

Deogarh is a small yet all picturesque town. During the hot summer month sun shades protect the streets from the heat.
