Remota Hotel in Puerto Natales, Patagonia – Inspiring Excursion Base

Remota hotel is located in remote Puerto Natales, an old fishing town in Patagonia’s South situated between Punta Arenas and the Torres del Paine National Park. It serves as premier base for hiking, biking and even kayaking excursions into Patagonia’s plains.

Architectonically speaking Remota offers a unique experience as it perfectly blends into the light slopes of the landscape.

We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff at Remota hotel and a smile played on our lips when we received our room key – a cute little sheep! :-)

The main building features huge windows from the floor to the ceiling which makes everything appear very brightly and warm. Several basic materials such as wood, asphalt and slate have been used. Yellow cushions and huge fireplaces add to the coziness.

The hotel’s 72 rooms are generous with wide views onto the beautiful landscape. The rugged design is rather simple and minimal, but with the mixed materials and the colorful bedcover it is still very stylish. Check out Remota Hotel Puerto Natales‘s prices and availability here.

Remota also features a spa, called SPOT, with a heated infinity pool, a Finnish sauna including two outdoor jacuzzis in wooden tubs.

Remota’s dining room gives a stupendous view across grasslands to distant mountains. And the broad tables with white cloths create a very warm atmosphere.

The food is inspired by local ingredients such as pumpkin and the mandatory meat. It all comes across as rural and authentic tastiness in a stylish setup in front of appeasing grasslands.

Excursions by Remota Hotel

Remota offers a broad range of excursions in the immediate surroundings, as well as hikes and kayaking in the Torres del Paine National Park. Apparently some of the trails outside the park are exclusive to Remota. We actually didn’t join any excursion since we only stayed one night on our way up North. But it was definitely worth spending that night at Remota! It makes for a perfect stop before you make it to Patagonia’s vast gravelroads in the national park.
