The Plaza Vieja Hotel and Lounge is located in the heart of Almería, at Plaza de la Constitución. The hotel is a perfect mix between tradition and modern style.

Ok, we had a bit of difficulty to find the The Plaza Vieja Hotel and Lounge, since it is in the center of the old town, but at the same time in a very quiet and a car-free area. But once we found the place, we were really fascinated, since the Hotel offers a romantic but at the same time urban ambiance. It has been built in a building from the 19th Century.

The entrance is set up in a library style and the outdoor lounge area with the colourful cushions offer an enjoyable spot.

Rooms at the Plaza Vieja Hotel in Almeria

The Hotel offers 10 bedrooms on two floors. With parquet floors and large photo prints, the décor of the rooms combines modern design with a sense of history.
Suite at Plaza Vieja Hotel & Lounge in Almeria

The Suite we had was very spacious, furbished in a modest way, but very stylish! And the view from the room was great! We overlooked the Plaza de la Constitución and had a view on the Alcazaba (the Moorish fortification in Almeria, deriving from the Arabic world).

Aire de Almeria – the Arab Bath at the Plaza Vieja Hotel & Lounge

The Hotel also features an Arab Bath – the Aire de Almeria – including a Hammam, a Salt-Bath, a Hydro-Massage Bath and a Relaxation Room. After a tour through the various bathes with different temperatures you feel totally relaxed. Don’t miss it! The entrance is included in the price of the suite.

Day trip to Desert Springs Golf Course in Almanzora

While we were staying in Almeria we made a day trip to Desert Springs Golf Course in Almanzora, which is approx. 1.5 hours drive from Almeria but definitely worth the trip!

The amazing Indiana Course – inspired by the famous desert courses of Arizona & California – offers unforgettable views, and golf of such a dramatic nature that you really feel to play in the desert!
