The Algarve, Portugal’s most southern province is famous for its spectacular scenery along a fabulous coastline. The main golf season is from late autumn to late spring. With its mild climate, breathtaking scenery, friendly people and excellent golf courses, the Algarve offer everything to make a memorable golf holiday.

Vila Valverde design & country hotel

One of the hotel we can highly recommend along the Algare, is Vila Valverde in Praia da Luz. This beautiful manor house has been converted into a desgin boutique hotel with many lovely details in decoration and wonderful colours.

The rooms are very nicely designed, offering high class comfort and also a huge terrace to relax and enjoy privacy.

Golf Courses

Parque da Floresta is one of Europe’s most spectacular golf courses. Designed by the prestigious Spanish architect Pepe Gancedo, this golf course is certainly a “must” for all golf-lovers.

Another sophisticated golf course is Quinta do Lago which enjoys the full spectrum of nature’s bounty. There are three courses at Quinta do Lago which offer different challenges; The Northcourse, the Southcourse and Laranjal.

The Pine Cliffs 9-hole golf course is famous throughout the world, as there is a challenging PAR 3 crossing the chasm below the cliffs and offering an overwhelming view over the Atlantic Ocean.

Where we lost most of our golf balls, was on the Vale do Lobo Royal Course though. The Royal Golf Course is amidst some pine trees and beautiful lakes surrounded by wild flowers make this golf course even more spectacular. The famous whole 16th, with cliff-top carryover, is one of the most celebrated golfing images in the world! A tremendous golf course, but not too easy I would say! :-)

Vila Sol Vilamoura Spa & Golf resort

The Vila Sol Spa & Golf Resort is set in a very scenic natural surrounding. The spacious rooms offer private balconies overlooking the garden and pool.
