Soma Bay is an exclusive Red Sea resort in Egypt. It’s 45 kilometers from Hurghada, to which it is just a short 4 hour flight from Central Europe. Sunshine all year round, the mild temperatures and fantastic panoramic views of desert mountains make Soma Bay an ideal place for relaxation and recreation.

La Residence des Cascades

Positioned on the highest point of the Peninsula of Soma Bay lays La Residence des Cascades. This resort sits majestically amid The Cascades 18-hole golf course with panoramic views of the fairways and sea. It has more than 200 comfortable guest rooms plus some luxurious suites.

The hotel offers a variety of dining experiences since there are several restaurants. One of them is “L’Albatros”, an elegant restaurant featuring fine dining in an intimate atmosphere. Don’t miss it! The service was excellent (also in the main restaurant) and the staff was very friendly. Our waiter Mamood even wanted to invite us to his wedding! :-)

The Cascade Golf Course

The Cascades Championship Golf Course is a 18 hole, par 72 course designed by Gary Player. The course combines links and desert, which makes a very fascinating contrast between the colours of desert and clear blue waters.

We enjoyed the course very much, however it was quite challenging to play since it was always very windy. Nevertheless, we can highly recommend this beautiful golf course.

The Beach at Soma Bay

The waters of the Red Sea are world famous for their teeming marine life and clear visibility. We only made short trip with a glass bottom boat and saw some very nice coloured fishes.

Soma Bay offers a variety of watersport activities. Since it is quite windy, it is also a paradise for wind surfers, sailers and kitesurfers! But also just when relaxing at the beach, Soma Bay offers an awesome panoramic view of the desert mountains.
