Yurt Style Camping at Patagonia Camp near Torres del Paine

We were never really fond of camping. But Patagonia Camp is obviously not what you would call a traditional campground – it’s a luxury camp offering every comfort you might think of.

Located at the shores of Lake Toro, Patagonia Camp is just a 15-minutes drive from one of the world’s most spectacular national parks – Torres del Paine.

Have a look!

Yurt 16 with terrace

Patagonia Camp features a cozy lounge, a restaurant with terrace and 18 wood-framed yurts (Mongolian-inspired wood-framed tents) and is situated along wooden walkways, amidst of a forest. The yurts and the main building are connected by open wooden walkways. The remote setting by Lake Toro is really exceptional and the atmosphere is incredibly natural and romantic.

View from the yurt

Each yurt has its own private bathroom, a private terrace and is decorated with nice fabrics and handcrafted furniture.
From our yurt we had a perfect view of the Cuernos del Paine, one of the most photographed rock formations in the Torres del Paine National Park and the yurt even offers a view of the stars through a central window in the roof.

The setting and concept of Patagonia Camp is really unique! However, in terms of service there is some room for improvement in order to make the stay unforgettable.

Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia Chile

With an impressive mountain range, Torres del Paine National Park’s glaciers and fjords are one of the jewels and a “must see” when traveling to Patagonia.

The park offers truly stunning scenery. In the center of the park you’ll find the impressive peaks – the Cuernos (horns) and the Torres (towers). The three granite monoliths which you’ll find on every second postcard of Patagonia are totally impressive and breathtaking…

Patagonia Camp offers one or two excursions per day. We opted for the drive to Lake Grey, a glacially fed lake in the park, and a short hike to a spectacular mirador.

Nice guy guide Rodrigo and driver Ivan impressed us by preparing a full fledged picnic lunch at an idyllic spot near Lake Grey :-)

This is flashcamping in style! I love staying in Yurts, although the ones i’ve stayed in before are a whole lot more dirty than these ones! Good post.

Thanks! Yes, they call them yurts and they are lookalikes. But you actually reside in a boutique hotel really ;-)
