Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau offer an awe inspiring panorama of the Bernese Oberland in the Swiss Alps. With sunny weather you get spectacular views of peaks, glaciers and valleys around Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Grindelwald and Kleine Scheidegg.

Hiking from Maennlichen to Kleine Scheidegg

From the hotels in Wengen it’s a short stroll to the Maennlichen gondola lift. It will take you quickly to the summit station on an altitude of 2225 meters. From here you enjoy a spectacular view of the Eiger North Face, Mönch and Jungfrau.

The summit offers space enough for restaurants and landing areas for glacier planes and helicopters.

Slopes in the Bernese Oberland are excellent and offer perfect conditions to both skiers and snowboarders.

A good option for lunch is the Bellevue des Alpes hotel restaurant in Kleine Scheidegg. Its sun deck offers great views of the Jungfrau glacier and the Sphinx observatory high on Jungfraujoch.

How to get there?

From Zurich it’s a short 2 hour drive via Lucerne to Interlaken Ost and Lauterbrunnen. That’s where you have to leave the car and take the rack railway to car-free Wengen. It’s also here where the famous Lauberhorn ski world cup race takes place.
