Roomers – Hip and stylish living in the Heart of Frankfurt

Tucked away in a former office building just around the corner from Frankfurt’s Hauptbahnhof, the city’s central train station, is a top notch Design hotel: What the Design powers-that-be have produced nearly takes your breath away…

Step out of the Hauptbahnhof‘s nondescript office building neighborhood into this black gem, and you will instantly be struck with the certainty that you are dealing with “higher” design : The interior designers at Rosen Architekten have sheathed everything in dark tones ranging all the way to off-black; the eccentric design vocabulary of the wing chairs by the front desk also augurs well for what’s ahead…

…and the daring form elements are again incorporated expertly in the Skylounge .

The 600 m2 top floor with its expanses of glass offers generous views of “Mainhattan” , the wry name given by some to the financial capital that is Frankfurt.

In addition to the spectacular Skylounge, those hotel developers and infamous throwers of parties Micky Rosen and Alex Urseanu have set up three conference rooms –also with suitable views – and a fitness center and spa.

That the sinuously curved design language should carry over into the sauna should be self-evident…

When you’ve feasted enough on the view, it’s time to ready yourself in your room for dinner. The guest rooms at 24 m2 are not exactly the largest you’ve ever come across, but they are nothing if not stylish!

Totally blurred, but then that’s a sliding door in motion…

In the Roomers Restaurant

By now it should not come as a surprise that in the restaurant, too, they dug deep into their resources to give the epicurean and gastronomic heights here fitting surroundings: Comfortable booths alternate in the atmospherically designed dining room with a high table and a community table.

The whole is appropriately lit in subdued fashion by various floor lamps, ceiling lights and chandeliers.

On this particular evening, the little hearts decorating the tables were intended for Verona Pooth-Feldbusch. Clearly something extra special was worth celebrating, since it included even a little photo studio set up in the foyer for souvenir photos.

Even with all the excitement about the celebs, we’re not about to forget the kitchen!

We let the outrageously good-looking waiter recommend the mixed starter. And Saki, as the Greek-born bearded one was nicknamed, would be proven right: The variety of tartare, shrimp, scallops and Iberico Bellota ham was not only presented very attractively, it also tasted great !

(And, mind you, I’m sometimes prone to understatement…)

Depending on whether or not you also devour the accompanying creamy burrata mozzarella with its balsamic vinegar, this could be where your light evening repast ends.

But, hey, at Roomers they also have a bison filet on the menu … so, let’s dig in!

The nice piece arrives in solitary splendor on its own plate; the grilled mini veggies have to make do in a small side dish.

Not to go on unnecessarily just to gin up artificial suspense: The bison filet is a stunner! Naturally, succulently tender … we ordered it medium and medium-well, and both versions were done exactly au point in line with our tastes.

Fantastic! How on earth do they do that??!

At this point, it was high time to let reason prevail and dispense with looking at the dessert menu… Honestly, no idea what it might contain. Sorry about that…
Except that our favorite waiter Saki still managed an end run around good sense and won us without trying very hard for trying his fine vodka: He told us we could only aspire to the status of honorary Roomers by downing a glass in one gulp. And in fact, the vodka tasted relatively mild, so that presto – down the hatch!

Here’s to us Roomers!

With our heroic vodka feat accomplished, it made sense to let the many impressions settle in front of the fireplace or in the lively, stylish bar yet.

And what then happens in Roomers stays in Roomers…

Or, for those who might have wanted a more succinct report: We are pleased to recommend Roomers totally!

Many thanks to the Roomers Team!

Our thanks to managing director Markus Langkamm for the dinner invitation!
And hearty congratulation to the team backing up front man Saki; you provide an excellent experience or, in new German, a super experience!
