Everyone deserves a vacation. The hardest part about planning a vacation though is deciding where to actually go. You literally have thousands of great destinations to choose from across the world. This is of course assuming you have the budget to do so.

One great destination that can sometimes get overlooked though is Miami, Florida. Miami is an absolutely beautiful part of the southeast that you must experience. If you want a vacation with lots of variety, Miami definitely fits the bill. Here are five easy tips to help you get there.

A Package Deal including Rental Car and Hotel

Depending on how long you want to stay, a week or a weekend, look for a package deal. A rental car and hotel combo will save you money.

Search online for great deals or sign up to receive email notifications and coupons. Plan ahead at least six to eight weeks in advance if you are flying into Miami, and when a good deal does come along, be ready to act quickly.

Where to Stay in Miami

There are over 250 hotels, B&B’s, and vacation rentals in Miami. Plan where you want to stay by the number of guest you are going with. If your anniversary is near, consider staying at the highly recommended Miami Guest House or Coconut Grove Bed and Breakfast.

For the upcoming family reunion celebration, consider renting a vacation home for everyone to stay together. Staying in the city would be fun in a high rise hotel room like EPIC Hotel, or Casa Moderna Miami. Order some room service and get a bird’s eye view of an amazing cityscape.

If you’re a fan of art, consider staying in the Art Deco Historic District of Miami in the famous Sagamore Hotel.

What to Do in Miami Beach

The beaches are breathtaking. Miami is famous for them. If you love to lounge in the sand or swim in the ocean, then head out to Virginia Key Beach Park.

Another fun place to take the whole family is Zoo Miami. Or take an art deco walking tour through South Beach. There are numerous places to see and explore.

Visit Coral Castle or the Ancient Spanish Monastery. They have both been dubbed historical hot spots in South Florida.

Where to Eat in Miami

Are you hungry? There are over 1,000 places to eat in Miami. If you want happy travelers, they need satisfying meals. Eat at one of Miami’s great restaurants, and everyone in your party will be happy.

Try a bite at the very fancy Ola at the Sanctuary, or a budget-friendly meal at LuLu’s in Coconut Grove. You can find a lot of Cuban style cuisine off the beaten path as well. These places all feature great service and delicious food.

Packing Should Be Easy

Check the weather and decide what month you want to go visit. You’ll be surprised that Miami weather is almost always perfect in the summer months. Hit the beaches for fun in the sun.

The slightly cooler months of October through April have cooler nights, so pack a sweater. The city’s average temperature of 72 degrees is still ideal for outdoor activities. If you plan ahead and know where to stay and what to eat, you will have the best time in one of the best cities.
